STEP 2
They receive. Every week a beautifully designed personal letter arrives addressed to them by name with a warm thoughtful question to reflect on.

STEP 3
They reply (if they’d like). A pre-stamped reply envelope and response page is included with every letter. Just write, seal, and drop in any mailbox. No pressure to respond - ever.

STEP 4
You stay connected. Opt in to receive a brief monthly update on how your loved one is engaging with their letters. Peace of mind, delivered to your inbox.

CAN I GIFT THIS TO SOMEONE?
Yes, simply enter your own details as the subscriber and your loved one’s details as the recipient during signup.

WHAT IF MY LOVED ONE DOESN’T WRITE BACK?
That’s completely okay and honestly expected some weeks. The value of Dear Someone is in receiving something personal every week not just in writing back. Many recipients keep their letters and read them more than once. There is never any pressure to reply.

WHO WRITES THE LETTERS?
Every letter is personally written and reviewed by a real human being. Your loved one’s name, their week number and a carefully chosen prompt are included every week.

HOW QUICKLY WILL MY LOVED ONE RECEIVE A RESPONSE TO THEIR REPLY?
Because we use real physical mail- the same way pen pals have always corresponded- replies travel at the natural pace of postal mail. Your loved one’s response may be acknowledged within a few weeks of us receiving it. We read and cherish every single letter we receive and your loved one will always hear back.

CAN I CANCEL ANYTIME?
Yes, monthly subscribers can cancel anytime with no penalty. You may choose to put your membership on hold as well.

WHAT IF MY LOVED ONE MOVES?
Simply email us with their new address and we will update it immediately.

HOW DO I PROVIDE MY LOVED ONE’S ADDRESS?
You’ll enter their full mailing address during signup. We take care of everything from there.

IS MY LOVED ONE’S INFORMATION KEPT PRIVATE?
Absolutely. Their name and address are used only to send their weekly letters. We never share or sell any personal information.

WHAT IF MY LOVED ONE LIVES IN A CARE FACILITY?
No problem at all, we mail directly to any US address including assisted living facilities, nursing homes and memory care centers.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Currently we only ship to U.S. addresses but hope to expand to international addresses in the near future.

IS THIS SUITABLE FOR SOMEONE WITH MEMORY LOSS OR DEMENTIA?
Dear Someone can be a wonderful source of comfort for those with mild to moderate memory loss. Simple warm questions about cherished memories can actually be beneficial for cognitive engagement. For those with more advanced dementia we recommend discussing with their caregiver whether receiving weekly mail would be appropriate and enjoyable for them.
